A man with furious eyes and tight lips was walking down the street. He just had a fight with someone whom he thought was a good friend of his. ‘How dare he talks to me like that?’, he thought. At that moment, he bumped into a lady in old but clean cloths smelling like fresh spring rain. “Watch out lady!”, he shouted. She looked at his face and smiled. “Something happened to you, huh?”. He heard her soft voice and that disturbed his mood even more. “What do you care?”, he felt some resistance inside. “Well, I been there too. When something bothers me a lot, everything seems wrong”. “So?”, he replied with a bit less tension. “It’s a gift!”, she said. “What is? I am having a bad day, lady. It’s not a gift I want to receive”.  She looked into his puzzled eyes. “It depends on you really. To me, it’s a great gift to know what I like and don’t like. I don’t know everything about myself and sometimes it can feel hurtful to see the truth”. She continued, “When I find out my truth, it’s truly a gift even it seems painful at first. But Whatever happened to you, it will pass, like that ever changing clouds”. He looked up and saw the flowing clouds in the blue sky and said, “Well, but I didn’t deserve this mistreatment”.  She smiled again. “That mistreatment made you angry, right? Of course, it would. It’s natural. It’s like a bitter medicine. If you take too much medicine, it can hurt you. If you know how to use it, it’s a gift”. His eyes sparkled with curiosity. “How can I use my anger as medicine? It doesn’t feel good at all”. She noticed that his eyes and voice got tender. “That’s the gift I was talking about. Your anger is telling you what you need to be you. I think you want more respect?. Then you can ask for it instead of forcing it. From yourself and others you love. Of course we all have different truths, so we might or might not get it from others. It’s ok. As long as we notice the truth and learn from it. Sometimes that’s enough. We can’t get what we want all the time”. He pondered for a while and realized that he was not angry anymore. She smiled again and said, “See? just like the clouds”. They looked up the sky together and breath in the crisp air smelling like fresh spring rain.
