My journey started fifteen years ago when I was intuitively drawn to the concept of yoga. Practicing yoga has guided me to a deeper interest in philosophy, religion, psychology and other human sciences in addition to kinesiology and fitness. After studying yoga for several years, I was introduced to Kung Fu and massage therapy and noticed how they have similar roots, despite their evolution into distinct therapeutic art forms. My keen interest in therapeutic arts has grown over the years and my curiosity for deeper knowledge has led me to Chinese medicine (Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine) and Hakomi somatic psychotherapy. During my study, I started a business called Unwind Therapeutic Spa where I became an aesthetician and certified IPL laser technician for skin therapy.

Fascinated by these arts I realized that my biggest reason for studying them is to assist in my own healing journey. I learned that the true healing process can happen through cultivating self-awareness and  sharing meaningful connections with others. I also learned that how wholesome self-care is an important part of sustaining a healthy lifestyle. I am very grateful to experience benefits of these therapeutic arts and look forward to my opportunities to share these wonderful tools with my clients.

Michael is  a Registered Psychologist with 6 years of clinical practice in counselling and psychotherapy. He uses a variety of models and techniques to address the complexity of needs that you may bring. Mike has experience helping people with a variety of concerns including but not limited to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, anger, child behaviour problems, grief and loss, relationship issues, life transitions, and adjusting to physical illness.

The feedback Mike hears from the clients that the is “grounded” and “a good listener”.  He thinks this is because he believes in meeting people where they are at and being real and authentic in his work.  What matters most to you is the heart and soul of what our work together is all about.  Mike is committed to provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore these questions and use his training and expertise to provide an assessment and guide interventions for your specific needs. This is a collaborative process where we will work together to identify your goals and take steps toward improving your wellbeing.

Through this collaborative work, it is his intention that you will have a richer and more fulfilling understanding of yourself and quality of relationships with others in your life and everything you do. Mike is looking forward to meeting with you and supporting you as you take the next steps on your life journey.
