Unwind & Restorative

A nourishing & restorative class with slower movements and longer poses. This class allows students enhanced relaxation through stretching so they can enjoy a restful sleep and feel rejuvenated the next morning. Calming and therapeutic poses will be held for extended durations without strain, encouraging the students to explore their own depth and connection with themselves. This class is designed to help manage stress, depression, anxiety and to promote relaxation where the self- awareness of body and mind can truly unfold. Suitable for all levels – variations and modifications are offered throughout the class to support beginner students.

Positive Flow & Energizing

A dynamic class focusing on strong foundations, continuous flow of movements and sustainable poses. Students will learn breathing techniques that will optimize their practice to better experience the mind/body connection through mindfulness, creativity and concentration. This class is designed to help students cultivate the therapeutic alliance within themselves and with others, as well as to expand their physical and mental capacity. Major benefits of this class include strengthening core muscles, promoting healthy blood circulation, extending flexibility and range of motion, and increasing self-motivation and group awareness. Suitable for all levels – variations and modifications are offered throughout the class to support beginner students.

Christie Kim

Director, Integrative Therapist (R.Ac, CYT, RMT, CLT, ESTI, Hakomi Psychotherapist)

Christie grew up in South Korea and moved to Canada 17 years ago to advance her education and explore the world. She started her yoga practice in 2003 and began her journey into integrated health therapy 10 years ago, when she decided on a career change after working as an environmental consultant for major consulting firms in Calgary. Christie’s passion for art, music and dance has guided her to be a performer of Korean traditional music and a multidisciplinary dancer since her childhood. She also practiced Taekwondo and Kung-Fu. Since her career pivot, she has been expanding her skills in yoga, massage therapy, acupuncture, herbal medicine, psychotherapy, laser therapy, and skin therapy in order to share a full spectrum of therapeutic benefits with her clients. Integrating different art forms and cultures has helped her develop a unique style of yoga focusing on its therapeutic alliance to whole body health, weaving her artistry into creative movements and breathing techniques. Christie believes that a true healing process can be ignited by self-awareness and healthy connections with the self and others. She has taught at Theatre Calgary & Alberta Theatre Projects, Fresh Wellness Group, Samadhi Yoga, and Crowfoot Hot Yoga, among others. Christie is committed to living a yogic life of integrity, compassion, gratitude, and growth, and feels very grateful for this opportunity to share and grow with her students.
